Why you should get gutter art with you new gutters

Gutters help guide rain away from the house and most homeowners have them installed to help keep their home from getting damaged from rain water.  There are a variety of styles and materials to choose from when selecting new gutters for your home.  Therefore, you should be able to find some that fit both the look of your home, as well as your budget.  Regardless of the type of gutters you choose, one of the best things you can splurge in is gutter art.

Gutter art is a design that can be embossed into your gutters.  It makes your home or business look nicer than the others in the area.  In addition, by including gutter art in your new gutters, you will not only increase the value of your property, you will make it the talk of the town.  Everyone will want to know where you got your gutters with the intricate design.

Most gutters are either K-style or half round.  K-style mimics the crown molding found within most homes and the half round gutters are found on older, historical homes.  Most gutters are made of some type of metal, usually aluminum or copper.  However, there are some wood gutters available, as well.  If you choose wood gutters, chances are you will not be able to have it embossed with gutter art.  In addition, wood gutters are not as long lasting and are more expensive than most other varieties.  Wood gutters are also very heavy and require considerable maintenance.

Vinyl is another material from which you can have gutters made from.  It is the cheapest material from which gutters can be created.  It is not recommended for colder climates since it can become brittle and crack when the temperature dips too low.  In addition, you can not have gutter art embossed in gutters made of vinyl, nor does vinyl gutters last as long as metal gutters.

Another decision you need to make when choosing gutters is how wide they will be.  They can be anywhere from five to seven inches wide.  The wider the gutter, the more water it can handle.  However, the wider the gutter, the more material that is needed to make it and, therefore, the price increases.  Regardless of the width you decide upon for your new gutters, you can have gutter art embossed on them as long as they are made of metal.

Regardless of the type of material you choose, how wide you want them, the style you decide upon, or whether you choose to spend more to include gutter art; it is highly recommended that you have them professionally installed.  Having a contractor install your gutters will guarantee that they are put up correctly and will stay put for many years to come.  Another good thing about paying for professional installation is that you know they will be measured correctly.  Furthermore, by having a professional install your gutters you do not have to worry about injuring yourself by falling from a ladder or the roof.
